Seoul: Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who visited South Korea, made a big statement on India's security while addressing defence talks in the capital Seoul on Thursday. Rajnath Singh has said that India will not back down from using power to protect itself. Rajnath Singh has arrived on a three-day official visit to South Korea in the second leg of the two-nation tour. Earlier he went to Japan.
Rajnath Singh was addressing a special session of the Seoul Defense dialogue on Thursday, sharing some points of his address on his Twitter handle. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that "India has never been aggressive in its history nor will it ever be in future. But this does not mean that India will back down from using force for its defence".
Rajnath Singh raised the issue by giving a statement on India's nuclear policy and the policy of not using it in the first place. Rajnath Singh went to Pokhran on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. During his Pokhran visit, Rajnath Singh had said that "India is stuck on its policy of not using its nuclear weapon in the first place, but what will happen in the future will depend on the circumstances".
