Armed Forces Flag Day 2023: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has urged citizens to generously donate to the Armed Forces Flag Day (AFFD) Fund, emphasizing the importance of supporting veterans, war widows, and their families. In a statement released by the Ministry of Defence, Singh highlighted the AFFD on December 7 as an occasion to honor the sacrifices made by servicemen and urged everyone to participate in the government's efforts to ensure their welfare.

Singh emphasized the moral obligation of every citizen to contribute to the Ministry of Defence's initiatives aimed at providing care, assistance, rehabilitation, and treatment to those who have served the nation. He stressed the significance of recognizing the soldiers' contributions and ensuring their well-deserved respect and support.

Acknowledging the soldiers' commitment in defending borders and their significant role in disaster relief, peacekeeping missions, and various humanitarian efforts, Singh paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives or suffered disabilities while safeguarding the nation's unity and sovereignty.

Encouraging widespread participation, Singh urged people to contribute to the AFFD Fund and inspire others to join this noble cause. Additionally, Minister of State in the Ministry of Defence, Ajay Bhatt, extended his wishes to armed forces personnel, ex-servicemen, and their families, urging citizens to express gratitude by supporting the AFFD and its welfare schemes.

The press note also highlighted Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane's tribute to fallen heroes and active servicemen. Aramane called for generous contributions from the public to the AFFD Fund, emphasizing the importance of supporting those who courageously defend the country's sovereignty and integrity.
