Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu has convened a meeting of leaders of various parties in the upper house today to decide the remaining period of the budget session due to the situation arising out of the coronavirus. According to Rajya Sabha Secretariat sources, Naidu has called an all-party meeting before the proceedings of the house begin at 2 pm. In this, it will be decided to postpone the proceedings of the House by completing the work scheduled for the budget session. An official said that this meeting will be held at 1:30 pm in the Chairman's office.

The meeting of the two houses on Friday was postponed till 2 pm on Monday as traffic services were disrupted to prevent infection of the coronavirus so that the members would not have trouble reaching Parliament on time. In the meeting called by Naidu, it will be decided whether to continue or adjourn the proceedings of the House in this session based on the review of the situation arising due to the coronavirus. The leaders of opposition parties including the Trinamool Congress and AAP have demanded Naidu to be pruned, citing the threat of coronavirus infection.
