New Delhi: Around 50,000 farmers gathered at Ramlila Maidan in the country's capital Delhi on Monday (December 19). Under the banner of 'Bharatiya Kisan Sangh' (BKS), these farmers put forth many of their demands before the central government and then returned to their fields by evening. Farmers from many parts of the country had gathered in this rally. The farmers' stage had pictures of Bharat Mata and Lord Balaram. However, unlike the previous farmers' agitation, the gathering of farmers was peaceful, where para-military forces were also deployed in addition to the Delhi Police for security arrangements.

When the farmers who came to Delhi were asked, what is the reason that there was a lot of violence in the previous movement of the farmers who besieged the borders of Delhi for a year, while this movement is peaceful. Responding to this, Suraj Singh Thakur, who came from Sehore in Madhya Pradesh, said that our movement is not funded by any political party, perhaps that is why it is peaceful. Suraj Singh Thakur claimed that the so-called farmers who created uproar in Delhi against all three agricultural laws had received political funding. The farmers said that they have only come to demand their rights, whereas they had come to Delhi to defame the farmers. These farmers also told that they were not involved in the earlier 'Kisan Movement'. While some say that they were┬аwith that movement only in the beginning, but later they parted ways as soon as they came to know that the movement was political. Along with this, these farmers said in one voice that Rakesh Tikait is not their leader and they consider every farmer in the country as their leader and take decisions only after discussing among themselves.

The farmers gathered in the 'Kisan Garjana Rally' had a clear statement that they do not want to trouble anyone, they just want to get their work done. They have┬аthree main demands from the Central Government, with which they have┬аcome to Delhi. Farmers have told that the 'Kisan Samman Nidhi' received every year should be increased from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 20,000. At the same time, their demand is to abolish GST on agricultural machinery. Apart from this, the biggest demand of these farmers is that the selling price of the crop should be fixed on the basis of cost.

The farmers said sarcastically that the leaders who do not even know whether potato grows inside the ground or outside, are sitting to determine the price of our crops. Do they have any problems with private companies? In response, the farmers said that they are in support of the agricultural laws, and only some errors should be rectified. These farmers say that they are nationalists and they have no problem with all three agricultural laws (now repealed).
