Kangana Ranaut is in constant discussions because of her statements. In an interview in the past, Kangana Ranaut called Urmila Matondkar 'soft porn star'. In the meantime, director Ram Gopal Verma (Ramu) has also come in support of Urmila.  Ram Gopal Verma tweeted: "Not wanting to get into slanging matches with anyone, I believe that @UrmilaMatondkar has more than proved her versatile talent in enacting such diversely complex roles as in RANGEELA, SATYA, KAUN, BHOOT, EK HASEENA THI  etc".

If we talk about Kangana and Urmila, after Kangana's comments of a soft porn star, Urmila spoke in an interview to a channel: What will be the girl in a society who will use the word 'uprooted', will talk like this for a veteran like senior Jaya Bachchan. Is it good behaviour? Is it somewhere in Indian culture?". Not only Ram Gopal Verma, but many stars including Pooja Bhatt, Swara Bhaskar, Anubhav Sinha have also come in support of Urmila.

Talking to the media, Urmila had urged Kangana Ranaut to disclose the big names of the Bollywood industry that she says as part of the Gang of Bollywood drug mafia.  She said that She did not understand how Kangana would be in trouble with every single person in the industry. In her television interview, Kangana had called Urmila a 'soft porn star".
