There are many interesting stories of Ramanand Sagar's shooting of Ramayana which we get lost in the old memories of this show. Actor Rajasekhar Upadhyay played the role of Jamvand in the show. Rajasekhar had to wear a bear mask at all times to play the role of the king of bears. His face was almost completely hidden by hair, artificial long nose and tiara, along with fake hair on the rest of the body, so Rajasekhar was playing a character for which no one recognizes him and managed to bring his character's role to life on screen. Apart from the character of Jamwant, Rajasekhar did many other big and minor roles in this show.

He became a lot in the show, from Agnidev to the messenger. Few people know that Rajasekhar and Ramanand Sagar had an old friendship. Both knew each other since the idea of Ramayana was not even in the mind. Rajasekhar worked in Vikram Betal. Rajasekhar was also an astrologer and told Ramanand Sagar that he was walking on Sati's half-and-half. He was very fond of playing cards and one day when Ramanand Sagar suddenly reached Rajasekhar's room, he saw that he was playing cards. Rajasekhar himself told this in an interview that Sagar Sahab had slapped him. Ramanand Sagar said that you are such a good person and you are playing this card here.

Rajasekhar told that he had torn the cards at the same moment and never played the cards after that. Rajasekhar also told that when resentment erupted, Ramanand asked that he should tell a story on which work could be done. Rajasekhar pointed to the Ramayana kept here at Ramanand Sagar and said that what could be a better story than this. There is action, thriller, suspense, drama, romance in it all. Rajasekhar says that after this the idea of making Ramanand Sagar a Ramayana was invented.
