Every character in the Ramayana of Ramanand Sagar was unmatched and the story was written in such a way that every character got a full opportunity to grow. There was a similar character of Sumant, who was Maharaja Dasharatha's Mahamantri in the Ramayana. Chandrashekhar Vaidya had made this character alive on screen, who had shown this miracle at the age of 65 years. Chandrasekhar Vaidya's acting career and personal life were full of struggles. He also saw many ups and downs. At the age of just 13, he got married and by the time he came to class seven, he left his studies. Chandrasekhar Vaidya saw a lot of poverty in his life. There was a time that he worked as a watchman. Later, Chandrasekhar also participated in the Quit India Movement.

He also did the work of pulling the trolley apart from the watchman. But then at the behest of friends, he decided to fulfil his acting dream and he left for Mumbai. Chandrasekhar visited many studios in Mumbai, but no one entertained him. His luck changed and a person gave him an opportunity to act. He was called for a party scene. But Chandrasekhar did not give up and continued his hard work.

Later, after Mumbai, Chandrasekhar moved to Pune and started working there as a chorus singer. Then Chandrasekhar Vaidya made 3 films with Bharat Bhushan. Those films were - Minar, Barsaat Ki Raat and Basant Baharay. He also formed the CINTAA Association. Chandrasekhar Vaidya was also a close friend of Ramanand Sagar. He played the role of Arya Sumant at the behest of Ramanand Sagar. It is said that he was the oldest artist in that starcast of Ramayana.
