Vishwamitra's curse- It is told in the Puranas that Rambha appeared from Samudramanthan and after that Indra gave Rambha a place in his Rajya Sabha. It was always present in the house of Indradev. It is said that Rambha used to be very beautiful, but once Rambha tried to disturb Vishwamitra's penance, then Vishwamitra cursed Rambha in anger and for many years she was making this stone. Rambha worshipped Shiva-Parvati to get rid of this curse and after many years Shiva-Parvati got Rambha free from this curse.

According to Valmiki Ramayana, Rambha was liberated by a Brahmin by the curse of Vishwamitra. Rambha is mentioned in Ravana Samhita and it is written that "Once Ravana wanted to use force with Rambha. Due to which Rambha cursed Ravana in anger. "When Arjuna came to heaven, Rambha welcomed Arjuna by dancing.
