New Delhi: Amid the ongoing debate over the Uttar Pradesh government's directive requiring food shops along the Kanwar Yatra route to display their owners' names, Yoga Guru Ramdev has weighed in with his views. His comments come in the wake of criticism from various opposition parties and leaders who argue that the directive discriminates based on religion.
Ramdev questioned the objections raised by some, asking, "If Ramdev has no problem with revealing his identity, then why should Rahman have a problem with it? Everyone should be proud of their name. There is no need to hide; only purity in work matters. If our work is pure, it should not matter whether we are Hindu, Muslim, or from any other community."
The controversy erupted after the Uttar Pradesh government issued an order mandating that food establishments on the Kanwar Yatra route display the names of their owners. While the government has stated that this measure aims to ensure transparency and accountability, critics argue that it may be a veiled attempt to identify and potentially target Muslim-owned businesses.
