Was Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi really a Heroine? Or the lines of poet Subhadra Kumari Chauhan's poem 'Bahut Ladi Mardaani Woh Toh Jhansi Wali Rani Thi', was some exaggeration. It is no less interesting to know how a 29-year-old woman cause trouble for the powerful British army and made opponents proud of her valor. After all, what was it that the kings of all the princely states of the country could not do, and Rani Lakshmi Bai did it? How Rani Lakshmibai showed such battle skills in a country where taking up arms is considered a great thing for women.

Manu studied at home and Nana Saheb and Tatya Tope were her childhood friends. She also learned Shooting and Mallkhambh. Manikarnika was married to Maharaj Gangadhar Rao Navalkar of Jhansi in 1842 and was named Lakshmibai on the day of her marriage. In 1851, she also had a son who died four months after he was born. A day before his death, Maharaj Gangadhar adopted his cousin's son Anand Rao, named Damodar Rao. On March 23, 1858, the British attacked Jhansi and by April 3, there was a war in which Tatya Tope supported the Rani Lakshmibai, which prevented the British from entering Jhansi for 13 days. Finally, on April 4, the British entered Jhansi and Lakshmibai had to leave Jhansi. Rani reached Kalpi in a single day where she joined Nana Saheb Peshwa, Rao Saheb, and Tatya Tope. Then they all reached Gwalior where there was a decisive battle.

Rani Lakshmibai's last, but historic war began on June 17. Rani Lakshmibai was surrounded by British siege under The Heroes. The queen was shot fighting, after which she stepped out with her trusted soldiers. Chasing them, the sword of the British soldier stabbed her on the head, but her body was taken away from the British by her trustees and she was immediately cremated so that even her mortal remains could not be handed over to the British. Even though the Rani Lakshmibai could not win over the British, the British soldiers and generals were convinced of the Rani Lakshmibai's bravery.
