Srinagar: Former captain of the Delhi Ranji team in Jammu and Kashmir and Mithun Manhas, who played in several teams like Chennai, Delhi and Pune Warriors in the IPL, has thanked the Indian Army. Cricketer Mithun Manhas wrote on Twitter, "My grandparents live in Bhadrwah, they are very old. I just got the news that he was safe. I want to thank the Indian Army for taking care of them. They looked after my grandparents and took their medicines. Jai Young.'

With Section 144 in place, Mithun was worried about who would take care of his old grandparents, but the Indian Army helped him win the hearts of all. Mithun Manhas is a resident of Jammu. He has captained Delhi's Ranji team for many years. Mithun Manhas played his last first-class match in 2016.

Manhas scored 9,714 runs in first-class cricket with an average of 45.82, including 27 centuries and 49 half-centuries. He played first-class cricket for 20 years. Significantly, the Central Government has removed Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, giving the state a special status. Now, Home Minister Amit Shah abolished this status by bringing a Bill in Parliament in this regard. Since then, section 144 has been imposed in Jammu and Kashmir. However, on the occasion of Bakrada, the section has been removed.
