Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo, convicted in the fodder scam case and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav is certain to be elected as the party's national president for the 11th time. RJD's Assistant Election Officer Chittaranjan Gagan has said that on December 03, nomination papers will be filed for the election of the National President and National Executive members at the party's central camp office in Patna. Nomination papers will then be screened. The names of the candidates will be published by 5 pm tomorrow.

Gagan said that on 10 December 2019, there will be a meeting of the newly formed National Council, in which the national president and members of the national executive will be formally selected. The party will also have its open session on the same day. Prior to this, there will be a meeting of the outgoing National Executive on December 9, in which several proposals to be presented in the National Council and the General Assembly will be discussed.

The final list of the RJD's National Council members was published yesterday. With this, the process of election of the national president of the party has also started. The list of the National Council members has been published in the party's head office in Delhi, the camp office in Patna as well as the state office of all the state units. RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is suffering from many diseases, is currently admitted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand.
