Bollywood actor Ratan Chopra has passed away. He was suffering from cancer. He died on Friday in Malerkotla, Punjab. Actor Ratan's daughter Anita has confirmed the news of his death. She told that Ratan was battling cancer and he did not have any money for treatment.

According to the source related to actor Ratan's family, he had requested help from Bollywood actors Dharmendra, Akshay Kumar and Sonu Sood 10 days ago. However, he did not get any help. In his last days, he was in a lack of money. He was living on the food he got from the local gurdwaras and temples of his area. He had lived in a rented house in Sector 26, Panchkula, Haryana for some time.

Actor Ratan Chopra came to know about his cancer suffering in the month of January this year. He was unmarried and taught English at school and some other institutes. Ratan did his own studies from Chandigarh and Punjab University, Patiala. His real name was Abdul Jabbar Khan. He had adopted a girl named Anita. He played the lead character in the 1972 film 'Mome Ki Gudiya'. In this, actress Tanuja was also with him. Ratan had claimed in his time that he had received offers from films like Loafer, Aaya Sawan Jhoom Ke, and Jugnu. But he rejected it all on the insistence of his grandmother. His grandmother was against his film career. Therefore, the pressure was made on him to leave Bollywood and later he said goodbye to the industry.
