So today on the occasion of his birthday, let us tell you about the interesting love story of him and Naseeruddin Shah.

Ratna Pathak is almost 13 years younger than Naseeruddin Shah. Although this age gap for love never matters. Ratna and Naseer first met in 1975. The two met for the first time for a play. The name of this play was 'Sambhog Se Sanyas Tak' which was directed by Satyadev Dubey. Naseeruddin was married when Ratna and Naseer met. She was married to Parveen Murad who was a Pakistani. Naseer was 16 years younger than Parveen. The marriage of both gave birth to a daughter, Heeba Shah. However, there was a rift in the relationship between Parveen and Naseeruddin, so after some time both of them separated and Heeba started living with her mother in Iran.

At the same time, the closeness between Ratna and Naseer started increasing. In an interview, Ratna said that, 'Things changed in such a way that on the first day we were just friends and on the second day we started going to different places with each other'. For Naseeruddin, their previous relationship had given a deep blow and Ratni's presence in life started acting like a medicine for him. Naseeruddin and Ratna had different religions but this never came in the way of their relationship. Naseeruddin was required to separate from Parveen but he did not divorce, so initially he did not marry Ratna but started living in live-in. After this, on 1 April 1982, both of them got married at Ratna's mother's house. Talking about Ratna's film career, she has appeared in films like 'Aladdin', 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na', 'Mandi', 'Golmaal 3' and 'Lipstick Under My Burkha'.
