 Marathi playwright, litterateur and director Ratnakar Matkari died in Mumbai late last night. According to reports, he was found corona infected four days ago. He was undergoing treatment at Seven Hills Hospital.

Recently, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray wrote on Twitter - "India has lost a precious gem of the literary world. Ratnakar used to write literature for everyone, from children to elders. Marathi literature has benefited greatly from his contributions, especially dramas, short stories and novels. "Family sources connected to him gave this information today i.e. on Monday. According to reports, a BMC official said that "he died on Sunday night in a hospital in suburban Marol".

Along with this, the officer also said that 'last week he was confirmed to be infected with Corona virus. From story books for children to writing plays, his contribution to Marathi literature was unprecedented. Let us tell you that Matkari has worked in many plays such as love story, amazing story, folklore, and destruction. Apart from this, Matkari also wrote and directed the film 'Investment' released in the year 2013.
