Helicopter scam: Ratul Puri, nephew of CM Kamal Nath gets bail

New Delhi: A special court in Delhi has granted regular bail to Bisonsman and nephew of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath Ratul Puri in money laundering case. The case is related to the VVIP chopper AgustaWestland scam. Hearing on Ratul's bail plea on Friday, Special Justice Arvind Kumar issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to file the reply by 30 November.

Ratul Puri, the nephew of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, was arrested on August 20. Ratul has been accused of allegedly taking bribes through his companies in the Agusta deal. Earlier in the chopper scam, the Delhi High Court rejected Puri's anticipatory bail plea, saying that custodial interrogation was necessary for an effective investigation.

A fraud case has also been filed against Ratul by the Central Bank of India. Regarding which ED has filed a charge sheet against Ratul and Moser Baer Company. The bank claims that the company and its directors created fake documents to release funds from the bank. Ratul has also filed a bail petition in this case, which is to be heard on December 5.
