In a conversation with a channel, Ravi himself confessed that he had called in Wadia's office that night but his motive was not to ask for a ransom. He also said that he can call anyone whenever he wants. Preity refused to recognize the underworld don Ravi Pujari, stating that 'Ravi Shastri and Cheteshwar Pujara definitely recognize the former cricketer with the same name as Ravi Pujari'.
