New Delhi: Ravindra Jadeja, Team India's all-rounder, has been honoured with the Arjuna Award. Jadeja thanked the government for the honour. Jadeja was among the 19 players who won the Arjuna Award this year. Poonam Yadav has also won the Arjuna Award this year. After receiving the award, Jadeja said, "This honour will encourage him to do his best for the country on the cricket field."

"First of all, I would like to thank the Government of India who awarded me the Arjuna Award," Jadeja said in a video message posted on BCCI's Twitter handle. I would like to congratulate the other winners too. They all have performed brilliantly in their respective games. He could not attend the National Awards ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday on the occasion of National Sports Day as he is in West Indies with the Indian team.
