NELSON: Winning is a habit; and if you have not developed it, it comes hard and same thing happened with Bangladesh as they went crashing from 105/1 to 184 all out, chasing 252 runs to win second game of three match series against New Zealand.

With today’s win, New Zealand took unbeaten 2-0 lead in three match series.

Chasing moderate total on a pitch slower than normal at Saxton Oval, at one time, visiting team saw well place were 105 for 1 and two set batsmen were Imrul Kayes (43) and Sabbir Rahman (38). Both seemed in no hurry, but horrendous run-out led way for senseless shot making and it was followed by some good deliveries from the hosts ended up losing the remaining nine wickets for only 79 runs.

Bangladesh lost six wickets in 10 overs between the 23rd and the 33rd and eventually bowled out for 184. One more damning sign of their collapse was that it was a part-timer, Williamson, who took the most wickets - 3 for 22.

For winning team, Neil Broom, who made his first ODI century nearly eight years after his debut, had something special to savour.

Only Broom applied himself to any effect as he scored unbeaten 109 runs off 107 balls, while the rest of the New Zealand batting line-up faltered. Broom to push the total past 200 and in the end, it proved more than enough.

déjà vu for Bangladesh

Back in October, they were on course to chase England's 309 in Mirpur. After Imrul Kayes and Shakib Al Hasan added 118 runs for the fifth wicket, the hosts needed just 39 runs in the last 8.3 overs. But they ended up losing their last six wickets for 17 runs in the space of 39 balls.

BRIEF SCORES: New Zealand - 251 all out in 50 overs beat Bangladesh 184 all out in 42.4 overs.
