A petition was filed in the Supreme Court of India Supreme Court directing the Center, States and Union Territories to take immediate steps to reduce all medical expenses of non-COVID19 diseases during the Corona Virus epidemic. In a PIL filed by advocate Surjya Das, PIL has said that the nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of the virus has stopped the means of livelihood and occupation of the people.

Regarding the matter, the petition said that during the Coronavirus epidemic, non-Kovid-19 related health care / treatment has not taken steps to reduce the expenses. It has been said that after the closure of the means of livelihood and income, people are spending their lives out of their savings for food and shelter in daily life and the restrictions have disrupted life in such a way that no one knows when things Will be normal.

In his statement Das further said that it is necessary to consider that even at this time many people require non-Covid-19 related medical treatment services like Chemotherapy, Emergency Transplants, Colonoscopy, various tests and various other treatments. Therefore it is important that all governments should reduce the non-Kovid-19 related medical treatment expenses / fees.
