NEW DELHI: Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, gave his approval on Tuesday to a plan to overhaul the Authority Holding Sealed Particulars (AHSP) in a way that is beneficial to business.

The full history and technical information of defence goods must be generated, maintained, updated, or declared obsolete by the Authority Holding Sealed Particulars .

According to the Ministry of Defence, the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) has served as the AHSP for the majority of the defence products created by several DPSUs and commercial businesses.

In order to timely update their products and technology in keeping with the changing times, the industry encountered some obstacles under the current system. Therefore, the ministry has decided now to liberalise the Authority Holding Sealed Particularsprocedures and make them industry-friendly, said a Defence Ministry official.

The government announced that Indian defence industries will now be able to own and account for their final designs and specifications as AHSP if they created products, systems, subsystems, and components using their own indigenous capabilities (apart from key stores).

A decision will be made in the event that any changes to the sealed details arise. This simplified procedure will be made up of representatives from all relevant parties, including the industry. Within two months, the DGQA will notify you of the specific steps to take.
