Lucknow: The 22-year relationship between Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh and former Minister Swati Singh in the UP government has come to an end. Lucknow's Additional Chief Justice Devendra Nath Singh has also stamped the divorce applications of both. A case for divorce was filed in the family court only last year. After this, the family court approved the divorce.

Dayashankar Singh and Swati Singh were married on May 18, 2001. The bitter relationship between Dayashankar Singh and Swati Singh was not hidden from anyone. Everyone, from politicians to common people, knew that both were husband and wife only in name and that both had lived separately for the last almost 10 years. Now both are legally separated.

Swati Singh filed for divorce in 2012; it was rejected. Swati had also appealed to start the case by applying again in 2022, but a new petition was filed after withdrawing the application. When Dayashankar was not present in court, the court agreed with Swati's evidence and decided to divorce.

After becoming a minister, the relationship deteriorated again. In the meantime, both the husband and wife met again to see the closeness. Then, in the 2017 assembly elections, Dayashankar Singh did not get the ticket, so the BJP gave it to his wife, Swati Singh. Swati became an MLA and then a minister in the Yogi government. After that, once again, the relationship between the two turned very bad.
