We all are excited for the festival of colors. Holi is one of the most loved festivals of Hinduism as on this auspicious festival various delicious disease are prepared and people plays with the color and water. Holi is celebrated on the full moon day of Phalgun month. This year Holi will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. The festival of colors is celebrated with great enthusiasm.

On the festival of Holi various delicious diseases were prepared. Holi is a great excuse for Bhang lover. There is a tradition to drink Thandai, Bhang Ladoo and many other things made up of Bhang. However, people are not aware that why we drink bhang on the auspicious occasion. Holi and Bhang have a deep connection. In Sanatan Dharma,  Bhang is elated to Lord Shiva Shankar, whereas in Ayurveda, Bhang is  also used as medicine.

According to an ancient medicinal text Atharvaveda, the Bhang plant is described as one of the five most sacred plants on earth and is also known as the "source of happiness" or "the plant that gives happiness". It is said that Holi is celebrated as a festival of fun and joy. Bhang is related to the enthusiasm and Shiva's herb in Hinduism.

As per popular belief Lord Mahadev was affected of Halahal poison and he got rid from the poison by the consumption of Bhang and Dhatura. Therefore Bhang is consumed on Holi. At the same time, one of the main reasons behind its consumption. It is a medicine that acts as a digestive, as people have heavy food on the occasion of Holi. Bhang is useful for easy digestion.
