Renowned automobile manufacturer Renault has announced the addition of 17 new sales and service touchpoints in India despite the previous lockdown. According to the report, it include 14 showrooms and 3 workshops. Those have been added between April and July. These showrooms are located in Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

Renault's vehicles in India are not able to attract users much, but last year the company introduced the country's cheapest MPV Tribar, while entering a new segment. Since then, some increase has been seen in sales figures. Renault registered sales of 6,422 units in July 2020 which is 75.5 percent more than the units sold last year.

Apart from these, Renault has strengthened its network in the country with these new dealerships, which currently has grown to over 470 service touchpoints with over 390 sales points. The point to note here is that the company has recently made some changes to its popular cars Triber and Kwid, after which the company now plans to launch the Duster in August with a turbo-petrol engine. Country CEO and Managing Director, Venkataram Mamilapalle, said on the occasion, "We are careful in looking at the current situation, but it is also very encouraging to see that we are attracting new dealers even in times of adversity."
