New Delhi:-  It's been another busy day in the world of F1, and this time with Renault there was no shortage of important topics to talk about.

Elsewhere, Christian Horner is on the offensive again against Mercedes nemesis Toto Wolff, while Nick de Vries ranks among the shortest-serving F1 drivers of the century after being sacked by Red Bull. I also noticed that You are done. Ready your frame and let's get you into the heart of the action.

Renault is happy with current 2026 F1 engine regulations but perhaps a sign of the elite sporting quality of F1 in 2023 is the fact that the story that unfolded three seasons ago is now a hot topic.

Red Bull CEO Horner has voiced concern about the impact of a 50/50 split between electric and ICE powertrains at the outset of discussions about the current regulations for redesigned powertrains for 2026.

Simply put, he found an ally in Ferrari but a credible foe in Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, who said there was "zero chance" of a rewrite. Renault, on the other hand, is also in the chat and their stance is not good news for Horner.

"Talking to the powertrain people, we want to maintain the status quo," Otmar Szafnauer, team principal of the Renault-powered Alpine team, told media outlets including PlanetF1.com. Christian Horner attacks Mercedes engine customer Toto Wolff.

By this point, Horner and Wolff were already at odds over the 2026 engine regulations, but Horner had another card to face the Mercedes team principal.

Red Bull will officially become an F1 PU manufacturer in 2026 through its Red Bull Powertrain division in partnership with American auto giant Ford. Mercedes currently has two locations, the chassis team in Brackley and the Mercedes HPP division in Brixworth.

So this was the ammunition Horner needed to add a new dimension to this ongoing battle. According to Motorsport.com, Horner said, "I don't know how close Toto is to his engine business as he is a customer and not formally involved in the HPP business."

After the changes of the rules for the year 2026, Renault Team is on the records as they have made great progress after the changes.
