Lucknow: A shocking case of triple talaq has come to light in Banda, Uttar Pradesh. Here a husband has conditionally divorced his wife by uttering talaq-talaq-talaq 3 times and has put a condition that now he will be with her only when the woman performs halala with her brother-in-law or sister-in-law's husband.
According to media reports, this matter is related to Kotwali area of ​​Banda city. The victim, a resident of Gayatri Nagar, approached the police station and lodged a complaint. In the complaint, the victim has told that she was told by her husband that if she complains about triple talaq, she will be killed. Seeking justice for herself, the woman has made serious allegations against 4 in-laws including her husband. Following the order of the Superintendent of Police (SP), a case has been registered on the complaint of the victim for dowry harassment, assault, intimidation and under the Protection of Muslim Rights Act.
According to the report, the victim woman was married on July 22, 2015 with a youth from Sabad village. After some time her in-laws started torturing her for dowry and she was beaten up and abused. A few days after the marriage, her husband also went to Saudi Arabia in connection with work and at that time the in-laws increased the oppression on her. Fed up with the harassment, the victim started living in her maternal home. When talked to the husband, he told about the atrocities of the in-laws. On this, her husband threatened her and said that he would remarry, but would not stay with her. He returned to India in 2022 and then went to his wife's house and gave her triple talaq.
As per reports, he had put a condition in front of the wife, if she wants to be with him again, she will have to perform halala. Husband also said that he will have to do this halala with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law's husband. If she does not do this then their relationship cannot go ahead. On the refusal of the woman, the accused gave her triple talaq and went away.
