New Delhi: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the regulatory body of telecom services, said that the total revenue of telecom companies has seen a decrease over the past year. According to TRAI, the total revenue of telecom companies has decreased by 7.13 percent in the year 2018. TRAI gave this information on Wednesday. TRAI said that during this period the license fees and spectrum fees received by the government from telecom operators have also declined. They fell by 10.29 percent and 17.7 percent respectively.

The regulatory authority said in its report that the AGR (adjusted gross revenue) from the sale of telecom services of companies in the year 2018 also decreased by 10 percent to Rs 1,44,446 crore. It was Rs 1,60,814 crore in 2017. Gross revenue also reduced to Rs 2,37,417 crore in 2018, from Rs 2,55,655 crore in 2017.

According to the TRAI report, in 2018, the spectrum usage fee received by the telecom companies to the government has come down by 17.74 percent to Rs 4,186 crore. Apart from this, the collection of the license fee has also declined by 10.2 percent. It was Rs 11,641 crore last year.
