RIP Rahul Koli, India’s Oscar Entry Chhellow Show’s child actor dies of cancer

A Few days after the film was nominated for Oscars ‘Chhellow Show’ was nominated for the Oscar child actor died. Rahul Koli, who acted in Chhello Show, titled (Last Film Show), died of cancer. He was among the film's six child actors. He was one of the six child actors who are part of the film that is India’s official entry for the best international feature film category at the 95th Academy Awards.

Rahul Koli’s father Ramu Koli shares the news as he said, “On Sunday, October 2, he had his breakfast, and then after repeated bouts of fever in the following hours, Rahul vomited blood thrice and just like that my child was no more. Our family is devastated. But we will watch his 'last film show' together on the release day on October 14 after we perform his final purification rituals."

Recently it was announced that surpassing all Big Budget Bollywood and South Indian movies, a small Budget Gujarati movie Chhello Show was selected as India’s official entry to the 95th Academy Awards for the international film category. 

Chhello Show' is inspired by its movie’s director Pan Nalin's childhood memories, which makes it a semi-autobiographical film. Nalin was born and spent all her childhood in Adtala village of Saurashtra. 'Chhelo Show' features six village boys from local communities in the region and was shot in villages and railway stations in Saurashtra. He also brought in old celluloid Hindi films and technicians to run projectors to make the film look as real as possible.
