LOS ANGELES: Actors Pete Davidson and Michelle Yeoh are now promoting "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," the next instalment in the popular franchise from Paramount.
The announcement of the two joining the production was made on Tuesday afternoon by 'Rise of the Beasts' director Steven Caple Jr. via an Instagram post that included two distinct recordings from the sessions" reports "Variety," the first with Davidson and the second with Yeoh.
Airazor is a character voiced by Yeoh, and Mirage is a character voiced by Davidson. The two actors join the cast of the live-action movie, which also includes Dominque Fishback and Anthony Ramos.
The Paramount films have not yet been set in the 1990s, but "Rise of the Beasts" will move the "Transformers" franchise there." The Maximals and Terrorcons, two new cybernetic alien groups that would support one of the sides in the Earth-bound conflict between Autobots and Decepticons, are reportedly introduced in the movie. Yeoh's character, Airazor, is a member of the Maximals, who are the Autobots' offspring, according to "Transformers" history. She has the ability to change into a falcon.
The late actor Francesco Quinn provided the voice of Mirage, an autobot who had previously appeared in Paramount's "Transformers" movies, in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" from 2011. Producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Duncan Henderson are responsible for "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts."
Skydance and New Republic Pictures are co-financing and executive producing alongside Entertainment One, the entertainment division of Hasbro.
The movie is scheduled to premiere on June 9, 2023.
