New Delhi: National President of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and former Union Minister Chaudhary Ajit Singh has passed away. He was infected with corona and his condition was said to be critical since Tuesday night. He was admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram. His condition became critical due to increased lung infection. He was found corona positive on April 20.

Ajit Singh's son and former MP Jayant Chaudhary took to his social media account Twitter to share the information and wrote, 'Chaudhary Saheb is no more.' Jayant said Ajit Singh was found corona positive on April 20 and succumbed to the disease on the morning of May 6. Jayant further wrote, "Chaudhary Saheb struggled till the last moment. Chaudhary Saheb got the support of a lot of people while following the path of life. These relationships were always dear to Chaudhary Saheb. Chaudhary Saheb considered you all as his family and always worried for you.'' Jayant Chaudhary wrote, "In this hour of misery and epidemic, we pray to you to take full care of yourself, stay at home if possible and be careful. This will be a true tribute to Chaudhary Saheb.''

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has also condoled the passing away of Ajit Singh. Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "The news of the untimely demise of Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh Ji is sad. My thoughts to his family and loved ones.''
