Dominica: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan, and Alick Athanaze, who made their Test debuts for India vs. the West Indies, all had memorable first innings. At Windsor Park in Dominica, during the second session of Day 3, Kishan, who had a fantastic performance behind the stumps, would disagree, especially in light of what transpired when he stepped out to bat for the first time in red-ball cricket.

Similar to Jaiswal, who needed 17 balls to get his maiden run, Kishan took his time to get going. While everyone praised Jaiswal's endurance and patience, Kishan did not receive the same praise. The wicketkeeper-batter handled Rohit Sharma's rage well.

From the dressing room, Rohit could be seen making enthusiastic hand motions while Kishan showed no sign of wanting to move the conversation further. Not just Kishan takes their time to score runs. In fact, nearly every Indian batsman had trouble increasing their scoring rates.

No Indian batter who reached double digits had more than 50 strikes. Jaiswal and Rohit, two centurions, achieved moderate strike rates of 44.18 and 46.60. It was primarily because of the pitch's and the outfield's slow pace.

Rohit Sharma's response suggested that India was preparing a declaration after Kohli was dismissed for 76. And Kishan may have been charged with going out and obtaining rapid runs. Nevertheless, it took the left-handed player 20 balls to register his first runs in a Test match.

Post match Rohit Sharma also said “I just Wanted Ishan Kishan to get off the mark and get his first runs in Test Cricket and then we’d declare.”

A furious Rohit Sharma immediately ordered him and Ravindra Jadeja (37*) back to the pavilion when he eventually scored the run. India had a 271 run lead at that point and was at 421/5.

India dismissed whole West Indies team into the stands with the score of 130. Ravichandran Ashwin took 7 wickets in the 2nd innings increasing the total count to 12 wickets in the match for him.
