Madrid [Spain], May 7 (NT): Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has given confirmation that football ace Cristiano Ronaldo would undergo tests on his ankle injury, after the rocking striker was replaced at half-time during an entertaining 2-2 draw against Barcelona at Camp Nou last evening.

Ronaldo had suspended forward Luis Suarez's opening goal for the unbeaten La Liga champions Barcelona in the 14th minute of the match before Ronaldo suffered an injury to his ankle while tapping in Karim Benzema's header.

consequently, Ronaldo was forced to leave the field as Madrid went on to lock a 2-2 draw against 10-man Barcelona after Gareth Bale struck in the 72nd minute to suspend Lionel Messi's terrific individual effort in the 52nd minute.

And Zidane denied putting a time frame on Ronaldo's injury absence, despite the Champions League final against Liverpool being just three weeks away.

"I don't know how long he'll be out. He said it wasn't much, but we'll see tomorrow, we'll do some tests to see the extend of the damage done to his ankle. He was a little worried because it was a bit swollen, but he said that it's nothing serious," Zidane said following the standoff.

The end result left Real Madrid three points after city rivals Atletico in the race for second spot with a game in hand.
