New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi's Iftar party held on Wednesday. This much-publicized get together has grabbed headlines not because of the guest-list, but for some off beam reasons. The Congress scion has landed into a controversy for wearing a skull cap offered to him by a Muslim supporter and straight away he removed it in just a few seconds.

The entire incident was captured on camera and the visuals of Gandhi scion obliging his Muslim supporter by agreeing to wear the skull cap offered by him and immediately removing it was rounded on social media.

Rahul Gandhi was sitting with senior Congress leaders including former President Pranab Mukherjee when a Congress supporter from Muslim community came forward and offered him the skull cap.

Worth mention here Rahul Gandhi with a smile on his face, shook hands with him and sported the skull cap, but removed it within ten seconds.

Consequentially this was not well received by the Muslim community members who were witness about the whole incident.

Attacking to Rahul Gandhi, the ruling BJP stated that the Congress president's Iftar party was just eyewash and an attempt to settle Muslims for pure political gains. BJP also called it as a photo-op and a so- called publicity stunt.

Entertainingly, this was Rahul Gandhi's first Iftar party since he took over as Congress president last year.

Former presidents Pranab Mukherjee and Pratibha Patil and vice-president Hamid Ansari were also present in the dinner.
