Mumbai: Today is Vijayadashmi. and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat performed 'Shastra Pujan' at Nagpur headquarters today. Bhagwat also paid floral tributes to Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar. In his address, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said, "On the day we became independent, with the joy of freedom, we also experienced a very painful endeavour in our minds. That pain hasn't gone yet. Our country has been divided, it is a very sad history, but we should face the truth of that history, everyone should know.''
The Sangh chief further said, "The enmity and isolation that led to the partition is not to be repeated. To avoid repetition, everyone should know that history to bring back our lost integrity and unity. Especially the new generation should know. The lost can come back, embrace the lost separated one back.'' At the same time, he said, "We have to forget the narrow ego of our opinions, creeds, castes, languages, and provinces, etc.''
Mohan Bhagwat further said, "Our journey from 'Liberty' to 'Freedom' is yet to be completed. There are elements in the world for which India's progress and its rise in a respectable place are detrimental to their vested interests. It is the influence of religion that gives the world a lost balance and a sense of mutual friendship that affects India. That is why the work of misleading the world and the people of India is going on by spreading untrue ugly propaganda against the people of India, history and culture.''
