J&K: RSS praises Modi government's decision says, 'the move was a must'

New Delhi: The historic decision of the Modi government on Jammu and Kashmir has also been welcomed by the RSS. The RSS says the move was a must for the entire country. Union Home Minister Amit Shah today moved a motion to remove Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in the Upper House. Amit Shah said that all sections of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir will not be applicable.

Earlier, the Home Minister introduced the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019 in the House. The Home Minister has recommended the cancellation of all clauses of this Section except clause 1 of Section 370 of the Constitution of India. With the end of this, the Centre has introduced the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill in the Rajya Sabha. Today, the Modi government has also removed Article 35A from Jammu and Kashmir.

On the Centre's proposal, the RSS, through its official Twitter handle, wrote on behalf of Sarsanghakendra Mohan Bhagwat and Sarvayawah Suresh (Bhaiyaji) Joshi said,  "We are heartfelt compliments to the courageous step of the government. This was highly necessary for the benefit of the entire country, including Jammu and Kashmir. Everyone should rise above their own interests and political differences and welcome and support this initiative."
