Andre Rublev of Russia, seeded fifth, has reached the final of the Monte Carlo Masters for the second time. He defeated eighth seed American Taylor Fitz 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 in a rain-curtailed semi-final. The losers in the final two years ago will be fighting for their 13th title. His title clash is going to be with No. 6 seed Dane Holger Rune.

In the other match, Rune defeated Janic Sinner of Italy 1-6, 7-5, 7-5. The 21-year-old Sinner, playing in his third consecutive Masters semi-final, broke serve twice to win the first set. When Rune was leading 3-0 in the second set, rain intervened. Sinner fought back later, but Rune won the set to turn the match into a deciding set.

The third set was a tight contest, but Rune started celebrating the victory when Sinner's shot tangled in the net. Rublev is going to meet for the third time in his career. Before that, both were successful in winning the 1-1 match. Rune is about to win the fourth title of his career. He also won the Paris Masters last year.
