New Delhi: Political leaders are now angry over the controversial statement of Congress MLA and former Karnataka Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar. One after the other, the statements of the leaders have begun. In fact, Ramesh Kumar has made very objectionable statements about the rape of women. 'When rape is about to take place, let's have fun,' he told the assembly on Thursday. His controversial statement has been condemned by many leaders.

Union Minister Smriti Irani said, "The statement made by the Congress leader on the ground that the Assembly resolves to protect women is shameful. The Congress leadership that says in UP, I am a girl, I can fight. So first the Congress should expel this leader from his party.''

Malilkarjun Kharge, leader of Congress, said, 'Such indecent remarks should not have been made. He is one of the senior leaders. I don't understand why he said that. Now they have realized this error and have apologised. But such things should not be done at all.' Swati Maliwal, chairman of the Delhi Commission for Women, said, 'MLA Kumar laughed and said that when rape is taking place, one should have late fun! Such a poor and rapist-minded man has no right to sit in the Assembly. I urge the Karnataka government to book this man and arrest him, dismiss him from the assembly and snatch VIP security.'
