Amidst growing cases of corona infection in Tamil Nadu, a complete lockdown has been announced from June 19 to 30 in some districts. The districts where lockdowns have been announced include Chennai, Chengalpattu, Thiruvallur and Kanchipuram. Only the essential services in these districts have been a relaxation in lockdown. During the lockdown in Tamil Nadu, the banks will open only on June 29 and 30. But cabs and autorickshaws will not run during the lockdown, although some emergency condition has been eased.
Government offices will open with 33 percent employees. The rule for government employees who are in the Containment Zone is that they should not come to the office, stay at home. Banks will open only on June 29 and 30 in the lockdown period. Grocery and vegetable shops will open, but from 6 am to 2 pm. Hotels and restaurants are exempted from work, but can only deliver parcels (home delivery). Permission has been given to keep the hospital, testing centre and lab open. All activities related to medical are allowed to be carried out.
Shops and mobile shops providing essential services will be open from 6 am to 2 am. People have been advised not to use vehicles, as well as to shop within 2 km radius. Tea shops will not open in this period.
