Kyiv: Tuesday's pre-dawn attack by Russia on the Ukrainian capital left at least one person dead and forced residents of Kyiv to seek shelter once more from a constant barrage of day and nighttime bombings.

Russian capital was the target of a drone attack, according to Moscow authorities. According to the Kyiv Military Administration, at least 20 Shahed drones were shot down by air defence forces in Ukrainian airspace during Russia's third attack on the city's capital in the previous 24 hours.

Over the city, drones could be heard buzzing before being shot down by air defence systems with loud explosions. Residents in Moscow reported hearing explosions, and Mayor Sergei Sobyanin later acknowledged a drone attack had taken place.

Without going into further detail, Sobyanin stated in a Telegram post that the attack only resulted in "insignificant damage" to a few buildings and that no one was seriously hurt.
According to Sobyanin, residents of two buildings damaged in the attack were evacuated. Later, the governor of the greater Moscow area, Andrei Vorobyov, claimed that several drones had been "shot down on the approach to Moscow." Officials from Ukraine have not yet made any comments regarding the attacks.

.After two drones allegedly targeted the Kremlin earlier this month in what was described as an attempt on President Vladimir Putin's life, there was a second reported attack on Moscow, according to authorities.

A high-rise building in the Holosiiv district caught fire during the attacks that occurred overnight in Kyiv, resulting in one fatality and three injuries. It was not immediately clear what started the fire, but interceptor missiles and falling drone debris have frequently damaged the ground.

According to the Kyiv Military Administration, the upper two floors of the building were destroyed, and there might be people under the debris. There was an evacuation of over 20 people.

Even after the immediate threat had passed, Valeriya Oreshko, a resident, told The Associated Press that the attacks had left everyone on edge. Think about what will happen after you are happy that you are still alive, the 39-year-old said.

Oksana, who only provided her first name, claimed that when the building was hit, it shook throughout. She advised others to seek shelter because they really had no idea where the drone would fly. "We continue to hold on."

According to the military administration, three cars were set on fire in the Pechersky district and a private house in the Darnytskyi district caught fire due to falling debris.

A rare daylight attack on Monday as part of the string of assaults that started on Sunday left puffs of white smoke in the clear skies. According to Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the chief of staff of Ukraine, on that day at around 11:30 a.m., Russian forces launched 11 ballistic and cruise missiles at Kyiv. He claimed that all of them were shot down.

According to the Kyiv military administration, debris from the shot down missiles fell during the morning hours in Kyiv's central and northern districts, landing in the path of oncoming traffic on a city road and also igniting a building's roof. At least one injured civilian has been reported.
