MOSCOW: Russian forces have destroyed an armaments depot in Ukraine's Kiev region, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed.

"An munitions plant near Brovary (city) in the Kiev region was destroyed during the night by high-precision air-based missiles," Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said during a daily briefing on Sunday.

According to the Xinhua report, 29 terrorists, including foreign mercenaries, were killed during the rescue of Russian hostages from a mosque in Mariupol, eastern Ukraine.

The Ministry confirmed, Russian forces destroyed 134 Ukrainian aircraft, 249 anti-air missile systems, 470 unmanned aerial vehicles, 2,290 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 254 multiple rocket launchers, 992 field artillery and mortars, and 2,166 special military vehicles.
