MOSCOW: What is happening in the world right now is an endeavour to construct a new world order, "not just and not so much about Ukraine,” said the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
During a speech at MGIMO, he said: "What is going on in the globe right now, of course, is not only about Ukraine, and not so much about Ukraine," Lavrov remarked, Russian time reported.
He went on to say that the West writes laws that "pass forth as the ultimate truth and demand everyone to conform with these rules" in a "limited circle." Ukraine was designed an instrument to restrain Russia, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. And, in terms of Russian NATO policy, Ukraine has been selected as a tool for suppressing Russian independence... As our president just stated, for this Ukraine to be an effective deterrent, it had to become anti-Russia, and in this sense, neo-Nazism was planted and nurtured there," Lavrov said during a meeting with MGIMO students and professors.
"Containment of any competitor is without a doubt one of the rules that the West wishes to implement. Now it's Russia's turn; China is next, or it may all happen at the same time. And the goal of this rules-based international order is "no less than the complete restoration of the unipolar globe," said Lavrov.
