Moscow: The withdrawal of the army from a big city of Ukrain is no less than a major setback for Russia. The Russian military has announced that it is withdrawing from the southern city of Kherson and its surrounding areas. Meanwhile, a US official has claimed that more than a million soldiers of Vladimir Putin's army have been killed. Putin is recalling his soldiers after a heavy downpour.
This will be considered another humiliating blow for Russia in this war that has been going on for the last 8 months. However, Ukrainian officials did not immediately confirm the move. In recent days, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the Russians are pretending to leave Kherson to entice them into their ploy. Zelensky described the attempt to persuade civilians to enter the Russian-occupied "battlefield" as a "drama".
The top US general said that during the war in Ukraine, more than one lakh Russian soldiers have been killed and millions have been injured. Speaking at an event at The Economic Club of New York, the head of the Joint Chiefs, General Mark Milley, said that Ukraine probably had the same number of soldiers killed. General Mark Milley is quoted in media reports as saying, 'More than 1,00,000 Russian soldiers have been killed and as many injured.'
