All Indian residents still in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, have been advised to leave the city as soon as possible."All Indian nationals, including students, are advised to leave Kyiv quickly today," the Indian Embassy in Ukraine announced in a statement. Preferably, using available trains or any other available means."

The embassy had advised Indians to report to Kyiv's railway stations for evacuation through Ukraine's special trains. People would be transported to the western region using trains.

"We sincerely request all Indian nationals/students to be calm, peaceful, and together," the advice said. Because large crowds can be expected at railway stations, it is advised that all Indian students stay calm, composed, and avoid exhibiting aggressive behaviour while there."

The embassy also advised citizens to leave the city with their passports, sufficient cash, and "good and proper clothing." Students who remain trapped in the city have been advised to plan ahead and expect train delays or cancellations. They've also been led to expect to wait in long queues.  Indians are being evacuated from Hungary, Poland,  Indian students are being moved to Hungary, Poland, Romania, and the Slovak Republic.
