New Delhi: The Indian Premier League's 14th season will be spectacular, with ten teams competing rather than eight. Last month, the BCCI unveiled the names of two new teams: Ahmedabad and Lucknow. The mega auction will now take place prior to the start of the next season. The eight old teams must submit a list of retained players by November 30 in order to qualify.

Foreign players, as well as Indian players, desire to participate in the IPL. Former Indian bowler S Sreesanth's dream, according to rumours, is to return to the IPL. He will do so by registering for the IPL 2022 auction. After returning to the field, Sreesanth earned a name for himself in the auction for the 14th season of the IPL. However, he was not chosen by any franchise. The Kerala-based 38-year-old had set his starting price at Rs 75 lakh.

In the 2013 IPL, Sreesanth was banned for life for spot-fixing. The ban on them was reduced to seven years by the Lokpal of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) last year. Sreesanth then returned to Kerala for domestic cricket. S. Sreesanth was a member of the Indian teams that won the T20 and ODI World Cups in 2007 and 2011.
