Famous Singer Sachin Dev Burman was born on 1st September. Sachin Dev Burman, popularly known as SD Burman, was a famous composer and singer of Hindi and Bengali films. He gave music in more than eighty films. His major films include Abhimaan, Jewel Thief, Guide, Pyaasa, Bandini, Sujata, Taxi Driver.

He ventured into the music world with Sitar. He was a Sitar player. After studying at the University of Calcutta, he began his professional career as a singer in 1932 at the Calcutta Radio Station. Subsequently, he turned to Bengali films and then to Hindi films.

One thing was prevalent in the film industry about Burman da, that he was tight-handed and did not spend much on irrelevant things.
