New Delhi: Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, who is on his way to Lakhimpur, was taken into custody by Uttar Pradesh police in Moradabad. Besides Sachin Pilot, Congress leader Acharya Pramod has also been taken into custody by the police. In fact, last Wednesday, Sachin Pilot left by road to Sitapur and Lakhimpur with a heavy convoy. Meanwhile, the police first tried to stop them at the Ghazipur border but allowed them to leave due to overcrowding.

Uttar Pradesh Police finally took Pilot and Acharya Pramod into custody at Moradabad toll after a lot of arguments with the police here. Now Sachin Pilot said, "Police officers have stopped in Moradabad while going to Lakhimpur. Have been brought to the guest house in Moradabad by the police. The authorities are giving the same answer that they have orders from the government, they are not showing any written order.'' Moreover, he said, "The Uttar Pradesh government is doing acts like strangulation of democracy, we were going to meet the victim's family and tie them up. It is incomprehensible to stop and detain in this way.''
