On this day Lord Ganesha came out of the biggest crisis of his life. That is why it is called Sakat Chauth. Once mother Parvati went for a bath, she made Ganesh stand at the gate and asked not to let anyone come in. When Lord Shiva came, Ganapati stopped him from entering. Lord Shiva became angry and cut Ganesh's head from his body with his trident. Goddess Parvati started mourning this situation of her son and started stubbornly trying to make her son alive.
