As Bollywood celebrities specially Salman Khan is getting Death Threats from unknown sources Maharastra government upgraded the security. Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Anupam Kher have been given upgraded security cover by the Maharashtra government.

According to the information, Salman Khan has been given a Y+ security cover by the Maharashtra government. Salman Khan faced threats to life from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, purportedly behind the murder of rapper Sidhu Moosewala. Due to this Maharashtra government has decided to upgrade the actor’s security.  Meanwhile the security of actors like Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher have also been given category security cover.

Salman Khan will be given a Y+ security cover. This means he will have four armed security personnel on his person at all times. Akshay Kumar will now be given X-category security, which means he will have three security officers in shifts protecting him. Anupam Kher has also been given the X category security. Although the cost  the cost of the protection will be borne by the celebrities.

Speaking about the death threat case, Salman Khan and his father received death threats in June, after which he was also issued a weapon for self defence. Salman’s security was also heightened on June 6 and a police van was deployed outside his residence after his father found a threat note addressed to them a day earlier. His father security team also  a letter outside their Mumbai home near the Bandra Bandstand promenade, where Salim Khan goes for his routine morning jog.
