New Delhi: The auction of players for the world's most popular cricket league, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has started from today. England all-rounder Sam Curran has created history in this auction. Actually, Punjab Kings (PBKS) have included Sam Curran in their team by paying a huge amount of Rs 18.50 crore. 

With this, Sam Curran has become the most expensive-selling player in IPL history. The base price of Curran was just Rs 2 crore. To buy Sam, there has been a tremendous struggle between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) since the beginning. Both these teams had taken Curran's bid beyond Rs 12 crore. After this Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also jumped into the race and the bids kept on increasing. Curren has been a part of CSK before. However, Punjab won the competition by paying a huge amount of Rs 18.50 crore. 

Apart from Sam, Australian all-rounder, Cameron Green became the second costliest cricketer sold in the IPL auction. Green has been included in his team by Mumbai Indians by paying a price of Rs 17.50 crores. Earlier, England batsman Harry Brook was seen in the initial set of the auction. Brook was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for Rs 13.25 crore. Along with this, SRH has bought Mayank for Rs 8.25 crore.
