No party except BJP has dealt farmers with insult: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow: Farmers of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh have taken to the streets at this time against agricultural laws. Yes, the farmers are currently demanding the central government to withdraw the new law. Now on the attitude of the government towards the peasant movement, the President of Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of UP Akhilesh Yadav has given his response. He recently said, 'No party has ever dealt with farmers with such insults except BJP.'

While talking to the media today, he said, 'No government would have done so much atrocities on the farmer as the BJP government is doing. This is the same people who told the farmers that they would not only forgive the debt. Would rather bring policies that would double farmers' income. But instead of adopting a positive stand on the demands of the donors, firing tear gas shells, cold water splashes and lathis on them is doing blasphemous work.

Apart from this, he also said, 'About 70 percent of India is dependent on agriculture, yet in its own country, the BJP has made farmers to beg. Promises like doubling their income, giving one and a half times the cost of production of their crops have become a jumble of the BJP government. Instead of listening to the farmers, the BJP government is set on its own dogma. This oppression of farmers will be overwhelming for BJP. Samajwadi Party will oppose the Farm Bill. Let us also tell all of you that Akhilesh Yadav has been angry with BJP's attitude many times, be it before or now.
